Facchetti vince gli Internazionali d’Italia 2017: primo Campionato dell’anno e primo titolo per il Team Maddii.
Terzo e ultimo round degli Internazionali d’Italia: siamo sul tracciato sabbioso di Ottobiano, in provincia di Pavia, e qui si sono conclusi i giochi del primo Campionato della stagione 2017. Ritornato dopo anni a gestire una scuderia di piloti giovani italiani nella classe 125 cc, con Gianluca Facchetti, Alessandro Manucci e Matteo Del Coco, per il team Maddii non poteva esserci debutto migliore. Dopo due prove di altissimo livello da parte dei piloti, con una classifica parziale che vedeva al vertice Facchetti e al secondo posto il compagno Manucci, stavolta dietro al cancelletto si ritrovano schierati anche altri competitor stranieri di portata internazionale.
La giornata si apre con un ottimo primo tempo di Facchetti, due secondi e mezzo più veloce del compagno Manucci. In gara 1, Facchetti scatta molto bene, parte tra i primi e all’inizio del secondo giro è già in testa al gruppo; riesce ad allungare nettamente su Haarup, pilota ufficiale Husqvarna, ma la bagarre con l’avversario si fa sempre più dura e avvincente, tanto che i due si toccano anche nell’ultimo giro. Complici alcuni doppiati, è Haarup a tagliare il traguardo per primo; Facchetti secondo, non senza avergli mostrato una certa pressione. Manucci, dopo un ottimo inizio di gara, ben saldo sulla terza posizione fino a pochi minuti dal termine, incappa in una caduta che lo costringe a dover rimontare dalla coda della classifica. Finisce 32°. Del Coco, anche lui caduto in partenza, è costretto a gareggiare senza occhiali: gara compromessa, termina in 37° posizione.
In gara 2 Facchetti parte tra i primi, e dopo alcuni giri di assestamento, a seguito della caduta dei primi due, dà atto ad una bagarre avvincente con Haarup per la testa della gara. Anche in questa seconda prova termina 2°. Manucci, partito 10°, dopo un inizio di gara a metà classifica, finisce 8°, non proprio in perfetta forma a seguito della caduta nelle prova precedente. Del Coco, nonostante una brutta partenza, riesce a recuperare fino alla 16° posizione.
La classifica di giornata vede Fachetti sul secondo gradino del podio, Manucci 15°, Del Coco 24°. Il Campionato si conclude così con la parte alta del podio conquistata dai colori del team Maddii: Facchetti vince il titolo degli Internazionali con 1340 punti e Manucci lo segue con 979. Del Coco termina 6° con 590 punti. Un inizio di stagione, quindi, molto incoraggiante in vista della preparazione per l’Europeo: Facchetti ha dimostrato di poter tenere testa ai suoi avversari europei, mettendo in campo sia le sue doti da grande velocista sia una maturità rivelatasi decisiva nella gestione della gara e del campionato. Un risultato notevole e di cui essere molto soddisfatti, considerato che il 2016 per Facchetti è stato un anno di recupero da una serie di infortuni sicuramente significativi.

Ringrazio tutti gli sponsor e ovviamente tutto il team, a partire da Marco Maddii che mi ha seguito assiduamente in questo inizio anno, Corrado Maddii e la mia famiglia: è un titolo importante, per il morale e per affrontare al meglio l’appuntamento con il Campionato Europeo. Da martedì si volta pagina: ci concentreremo subito sui prossimi impegni, continueremo la preparazione sui terreni sabbiosi in vista della prima gara dell’europeo a Valkenswaard.”
Adesso è il momento di affrontare una preparazione specifica sui terreni su sabbia, per preparare al meglio l’inizio della stagione internazionale.

Facchetti wins Internazionali d’Italia 2017: first Championship of the year and first title for Team Maddii. Third and last round of Internazionali d’Italia: we are on the sandy track of Ottobiano, province of Pavia, the end of the first Championship of the season 2017. After years of stop, Team Maddii is back at managing a group of Italian young riders in class 125cc with Husqvarna: Gianluca Facchetti, Alessandro Manucci and Matteo Del Coco, and no one could think of a better debut for that year. After the first two races the overall classification sees Facchetti leader and Manucci at the second place. In Ottobiano things get harder since other international riders decide to compete in view of the preparation for European Championship. The day starts successfully: Facchetti gets an excellent first time, 2.5’’ faster than his team mate Manucci.
In race 1 Facchetti starts first and yet at the second lap grasps the head of the race; he can outdistance the Danish Haarup, official rider of Husqvarna, but the competition gets harder and harder, passing and attacking each other. With the help of some riders overtook by a lap, Haarup crosses first the finish line, Facchetti ends 2nd after showing his rival considerable pressure. Manucci gets a good start, keeps stable in 3rd position till the final part of the race, then runs into a bad fall which forces him to perform a hard come back: he is 32nd at last. Del Coco, because of a fall in the first lap, has to ride without googles: race compromised, he ends 37th.
In race 2 Facchetti starts fast; initially in search of a good feeling and after the fall of the first two riders, he struggles in a breath-taking fight with Haarup for the head of the race. He eventually confirms the result of the first race. Manucci, starts in 10th position: he was not in very good physical conditions because of the previous fall, and after the first part of the race around half classification he finally ends 8th. Del Coco, despite a bad start, can come back up to 16th position. Facchetti, hence, grasps the second position in the GP classification, Manucci the 15th and Del Coco the 24th. The Championship classification sees the top two steps of the podium occupied by two Maddii Racing Team’s riders: Facchetti wins the title of Internazionali d’Italia with 1340 points and Manucci follows him with 979 points. Del Coco ends 6th with 590 points.
A start of the season really encouraging and satisfying, in view of the preparation for European Championship. Facchetti showed to be able to keep ahead his competitors and displayed having excellent talents in terms of speed, maturity and mental strength while managing the championship. To sum up, it is a noticeable result for Facchetti, as we think that 2016 has been an year of recovery from a series of extremely serious injuries.

Now it is time to set up a specific preparation on sandy tracks, in order to be ready for the beginning of the international season.
