The 2020 motocross world championship kicks off from England at Matterly Basin, a race characterized by the weather that on Saturday created major problems for the organization by canceling much of the program.
The riders took to the track only for the time practice. In qualifying good performance for Alberto Forato who managed to take the eleventh position, Mattia Guadagnini was unable to find the perfect lap and had to settle for 17th place.
At the start of race 1 Alberto starts off very strong managing to move into the top ten, Forato thanks to an excellent race pace he managed to overtake the classification by closing the race in fifth place. Guadagnini struggled to find the rhythm but managed to overcome several opponents and under the checkered flag he passed 15th.
In race 2 Forato was unable to repeat the good start of the first heat, Alberto did not lose heart and with a good race he finished ninth. Good performance by Mattia Guadagnini who managed to improve going to conquer the eleventh position.
Thanks to the two excellent results Alberto Forato closes his weekend in sixth absolute position.
Next weekend the Husqvarna Junior Racing Maddi team moves to the Netherlands for the second round of the world championship.
Marco Maddii: “We are very happy, it went better than what we could have expected. Both Mattia and Alberto have been very good, we know we have the potential to be in the positions that matter. Mattia in his first race started on the right foot without overdoing it. Alberto has shown he has the right speed for the MX2. “
Il mondiale motocross 2020 prende il via dall’Inghilterra a Matterely Basin, gara caratterizzata dal meteo che nella giornata di sabato ha creato grossi problemi all’organizzazione annullando gran parte del programma.
I piloti sono scesi in pista solo per le prove cronometrate. Nella qualifica buona prestazione per Alberto Forato che è riuscito a staccare l’undicesimo tempo, Mattia Guadagnini non è riuscito a trovare il giro perfetto e si è dovuto accontentare della 17° piazza.
Al via di gara 1 Alberto parte fortissimo riuscendo a portarsi nella top ten, Forato grazie ad un ottimo passo gara è riuscito a sopravanzare la classifica chiudendo la manche al quinto posto. Guadagnini ha faticato a trovare il ritmo riuscendo però a superare diversi avversari e sotto la bandiera a scacchi è transitato 15°.
In gara 2 Forato non è riuscito a bissare la bella partenza della prima manche, Alberto non si è perso d’animo e con un buona gara ha chiuso nono.
Buona la prova di Mattia Guadagnini che è riuscito a migliorarsi andando a conquistare l’undicesima posizione.
Grazie ai due ottimi risultati Alberto Forato chiude il suo fine settimana in sesta posizione assoluta.
Il prossimo fine settimana il team Husqvarna Junior Racing Maddi si sposta in Olanda per la seconda tappa mondiale.
Marco Maddii:”Siamo molto contenti, è andata meglio di quello che ci potevamo aspettare. Sia Mattia che Alberto sono stati molto bravi, sappiamo di avere il potenziale per poter stare nelle posizioni che contano. Mattia alla sua prima gara è partito con il piede giusto senza strafare. Alberto ha dimostrato di avere la velocità giusta per la MX2.”
