MXGP Riga European Championship EMX250

Guadagnini is third in the championship and Spies is sixth overall of the day.

Second appointment on the Latvian track of Kegums, the track has undergone some variations especially in the rhythmic parts. Mattia Guadagnini is immediately at ease on the new configuration and in timed practice he gets a good fifth time, an excellent performance for the sixteen year old Spies ninth. At the start of race 1 Mattia cannot find the right passage at the first corner losing several positions, Guadagnini as on Saturday staged a great comeback that saw him recover many positions by crossing the finish line in fourth position.  Excellent race for Maximilian Spies who, with a good start, entered the top of the standings and thanks to an excellent pace he conquered the sixth place, his best result in the European Championship. In race 2 Guadagnini still misses the start and during the first lap in trying to recover he crashed starting in last position, Mattia tried again to make the comeback but under the checkered flag he had to settle for 14th place. Maximilian Spies with a solid race ends his race in ninth place.  Spies finishes sixth overall and confirms his great skills. In the European Open two solid motos for Eugenio Barbaglia that saw him finish 13th in the overall standings, Federico Tuani closes 15th. Marco Maddii: “ today has been a challenging day, Mattia didn't manage to start well in both motos and the crash during the first lap of race 2 didn't help him get a good result, but we managed to score points that in a championship like this are important. Spies was very good and achieved his best result and this shows the progress made since the beginning of the year.  Barbaglia and Tuani did two good heats and this bodes well for the next race. "
