Lapucci star of race 1 at the GP of Pietramurata

EMX250 – EMX125 European Championship Round 7 – Pietramurata – 26.10.2021

After a short break, the 250 European Championship is back to action. Nicholas Lapucci got to the track of Arco di Trento ready to race and looked forward to great achievements as he did in 2020, his rookie year with the Fantic 250 XX, when he achieved two victories.

Nicholas immediately found the right feeling with the track during the qualifying session, when he set the second fastest time of his group. The session went well also for Federico Tuani, 10th fastest, and Spies who was 13th.

Lapucci pulled away at the start of race 1 and immediately took the lead. Nicholas’ race pace was so solid that he could leave his main rivals far behind him and win the heat. Federico Tuani’s performance was excellent also; after a great start he kept a good rhythm and classified seventh. The race went well also for Max Spies who was 12th.

Race2 turned out to be different from the first moto. Lapucci had to face a tough start and lost ground after the first corner. Despite trying to work his way up, the rider slipped three times and could not do any spectacular recovery. Lapucci classified 12th but came home with good points. Tuani was the author of an excellent start and was second right after the first corner; thanks to a solid race pace Federico classified eighth. Spies was 15th.

Lapucci is still the current series leader despite the tough second moto.

Fueri grabbed an excellent result in the qualifying session of the 125 European Championship; after the positive result reached on Saturday, he classified with a solid sixth time.

Alexis’ performance in the first heat was perfect. A great start and a solid race pace allowed him to battle it out with the top riders and grab the sixth position.

Fueri was the victim of a crash at the start of race2. The French rider had to start from the bottom, but he had to leave the race eventually after a contact with a rival.

Marco Maddii commented on the race: “It was a tough day for us. We did things the hard way. After a positive start, with Fueri sixth and Nicholas at the lead,

Fueri was forced to abandon the race and Lapucci crashed three times after a tough start. Luckily we’ve just lost three points in the Championship standings, we still have a good margin but we could have extended it. We’ve to show what we’re worthy of in the next race. I’m happy with Federico’s performance, fast and solid, and also Spies did well”.
