Nel circuito di Kegums in Latvia il 6 e 7 maggio 2017 si è svolta la seconda gara del Campionato Europeo della classe 125.
Una pista molto tecnica e un terreno sabbioso sono stati la cornice di questa gara. Il clima molto caldo e secco non propriamente tipico della Latvia ha sicuramente condizionato il rendimento dei piloti. Inoltre il nostro Pilota Facchetti Gianluca reduce da una caduta in allenamento in Belgio non ha ancora completamente recuperato la perfetta forma fisica. Nelle prove di qualifica del sabato Facchetti Gianluca ha fatto registrare il terzo tempo e Manucci Alessandro il sesto. Del Coco Matteo avendo ottenuto il 24° tempo di qualifica ha dovuto disputare la manche di recupero per avere l’accesso alle finali.
La prima manche del Campionato Europeo si corre di sabato mattina ma un cambio di programma ha fatto slittare la manche a fine di giornata su una pista molto devastata, in superficie sabbia ma sotto un terreno duro e scivoloso. Parte in testa Facchetti, per sei giri tiene il comando della gara ma dopo deve cedere all’incalzare di Strubhart Moreau e Horgmo Kevin e così termina la gara in terza posizione. Manucci Alessandro partito in undicesima posizione nel corso del decimo giro cade ed è costrutto a ritirarsi a causa di una contusione alla spalla sinistra, mentre Del Coco Matteo non riesce a trovare il ritmo giusto di gara e finisce in trentottesima posizione.
La seconda manche si corre la domenica mattina in un terreno leggermente migliore del sabato. Facchetti Gianluca parte in quinta posizione mantenendola fino al decimo giro ma nel corso del passaggio successivo scivola in seguito a un contatto con Horgmo e nonostante l’impegno per recuperare, termina la gara in diciassettesima posizione. Davanti a lui il suo compagno di squadra Manucci Alessandro che a causa anche della caduta del sabato non riesce ad andare oltre la sedicesima posizione. Del Coco Matteo anche in questa seconda manche non riesce a esprimere le sue capacità di guida su questo tipo di terreno e finisce in trentanovesima posizione.
Il Prossimo appuntamento del Campionato Europeo classe 125 sarà il 28 Maggio in Francia nel circuito di Ernee, un tracciato sicuramente più favorevole ai nostri piloti.

The first manche of the European Championship usually takes place on Saturday morning but, due to a change of schedule, it was postponed at the end of the day on a very devastated track, sandy on the surface but slippery and tough under ground. Facchetti led the race for six laps but he had to give up to Strubhart Moreau and Kevin Horgmo. He finished the race in third position. Alessandro Manucci started in 11th position but on lap 10 he crashed and he is forced to retire due to a bruise on his left shoulder. Del Coco did not find the right pace for the race and ended in thirty-eight position.
The second manche took place on Sunday morning on a slightly better ground than Saturday. Gianluca Facchetti started in fifth position and he kept it until the tenth lap. On the following lap he crashed after a contact with Horgmo and despite his commitment to recover, he ended the race in seventeenth position. In front of him, his teammate Alessandro Manucci who, due to the crash consequences of Saturday’s race, could not go beyond the sixteenth position. Matteo Del Coco, also in this second manche, was unable to express his riding skills on this type of terrain and ended the race in thirtieth position.
The upcoming 125cc European Championship event will be on May 28th in France on the Ernee circuit, a circuit that will certainly be more favourable to our riders.
